Siemens 64-Slice MSCT

HSC Medical Center has the First Upgrade to Siemens 64-Slice MSCT in Southeast Asia (from the first Siemens 16-Slice MSCT in Southeast Asia); the 64-Slice MSCT scanner has set a new benchmark in image quality with its ability to visualize the smallest vessels in heart, brain, abdomen and lung in less than ten seconds.

Siemens 64-Slice is based on the so-called Speed 4D technology utilizing the powerful Straton X-ray tube as a core element. Together with the newest Ultra Fast Ceramic ( UFC ) detector design developed by Siemens and integrated detector electronics, Speed4D technology enables the acquisition of up to 64 slices per gantry rotation. With a rotation speed of 330 milli-seconds, the 64-Slice MSCT produces 194 slices per second, thus enabling early screening for heart disease, stroke and cancer.

For cardiac imaging, it is extremely important to establish a strong experience in the 16-Slice MSCT imaging. HSC Medical Center has performed more than 3,500 MSCT Coronary Angiograms in 20 months – the largest series in the World. Many invaluable clinical experiences have been accumulated especially in MSCT coronary angiogram versus invasive coronary Angiogram correlation – more than 500 correlation studies – again the largest series in the World.
