Even for English or American people, English medical terminology is hard to understand. For Japanese it is natural that the English spoken by local doctors is found difficult to understand even by Japanese people who use English reasonably well. On top of the language problem there exist difference of life culture and medical culture. The extent of understanding between the local doctor and a Japanese patient is thus limited to a fraction of what it should be in the natural communication between a Japanese patient and a Japanese doctor.

It has been a long years of strong desire of Japanese people staying in Malaysia to have a native Japanese doctor practicing in this country. The dream has come true. Dr. Egashira (nicknamed “Doctor Ega”) who used to work in hospitals and clinics in Fukuoka Prefecture as a circulation specialist doctor and general practitioner has come to Kuala Lumpur to practice.
