HSC Medical Center was officially opened by the Minister of Health Malaysia on 18 February 2003 .

In a message to HSC Medical Center during the opening, the former Prime Minister of Malaysia Tun Dr Mahathir pointed out that “ HSC 's approach to healthcare, with a focus on the early detection and treatment of Heart, Stroke & Cancer and the utilization of the latest technology to enable rapid, non-invasive and earlier detection of these conditions is definitely in the right direction.
